Boone – Their were no degree’s to handle tonight, but the brothers of Snow Masonic Lodge did not run out of business.   Worshipful Master Tom Redmond gave an update on the workings of Grand Lodge a few weekends ago.  He informed the brothers that the “Whiteheart Royal Lodge” Rule passed.  Also the recognition of Prince Hall Lodges passed. 

In addition, the Worshipful Master presented awards to Bro. Jeff Main, PM and Bro. Bob Ward, PM.  These brothers were unable to attend our Past Masters Dinner the other night, and needed recognition.

Petitions for Affiliation for Brother Ken Cone of Imperial, California was voted on, the vote passed.  We are glad to have Bro. Cone as a member of Snow Masonic Lodge.

Snow Lodge would like to welcome two new brothers. Brother Casey Miller and Brother John Moore were initiated last night into Masonry. We wish them well and look forward to their ascension up the winding stairs.

Tonight Snow Lodge No. 363 in Boone, hosted its annual Past Masters dinner.  Worshipful Master Tom Redmond handed out several awards and appreciation certificates to all Past Masters present. 

After dinner Past Masters were encouraged to sit in the chairs of the lodge for an open meeting with family.  ”It truly brought back some memories”, said the Worshipful Master.  This is what Masonry is all about.

Past Master JD Cook was presented with a sixty year award, although he has quite a few more years than sixty.  ”This award was a long time coming”, said the Worshipful Master.

Snow Lodge has 39 living Past Masters, and luckily 20 were able to attend tonight.

Last night Brother Kevin Turner stepped up and worked the Masters seat well. Brother Ronaldo Dennuna and Brother Michael Combs were raised to the degree of Master Mason tonight. Many brothers from Mystic Tie in Marion, NC were on hand to see the raising of Brother Denunna. Brother Mike Combs is a third generation Master Mason at Snow Lodge.

BOONE – It was a rotation night at Snow Lodge last night.  Worshipful Master Tom Redmond was out on business last night which gave everyone a chance at stepping up.  Hal Main presided in the East and did a pretty good job for a first attempt.  Luckily the Lodge was forgiving as the brothers of the executive committee worked out the kinks.  

Two candidates were affirmed by secret ballot last night to receive the degrees of Masonry.  Mr. Ben York and Mr. Griff Austin will shortly be scheduled to receive the Entered Apprentice Degree.  In addition, two petitions were read and sent to Grand Lodge for a 28 day layover.  Worshipful Master Hal Main announced their would be a double first degree on Tuesday September 16th @ 7pm.

BOONE – It was a long night of business last night in Snow Lodge with two new petitions to read.  Mr. Ben York and Mr. Griffith Austin will be sent to Raleigh to lay for 28 days before being voted on.  

Fellow Craft Brothers gave Ronaldo Denunna and Michael Combs gave returned their catechisms, and will receive the third degree on Tuesday September 16, 2008.  Entered Apprentices Tommie McCranie, George Winkler, and Orian Carter returned their first degree catechism.  They should receive the second degree on Thursday September 11, 2008.

BOONE – STATED COMMUNICATION UPDATE – Brothers and visitors gathered around the altar on Monday night for a long session.  Nearly 15 visitors were in attendance tonight.  Many of them brothers from Hibriten Lodge in Lenoir, NC here to support Brother Milton Forester Jr.  Brother Forester was presented his endowed membership in Blue Lodge Masonry, by Worshipful Master Tom Redmond.  “It is an honor to bestow this certificate on Brother Forester.  We don’t see him as much as we’d like to now that he’s in Lenoir, but he will always be home in Snow Lodge”, said Redmond.   Endowed membership is paid into a Grand Lodge account and the interested is paid back to lodges forever.  For more information on endowed membership please visit our Library link. 

District Deputy Grand Master Jonah Stone made an unofficial visit to Snow Lodge on Monday night.  He was on hand to observe the business and see two candidates return their first catechism and receive the Fellow Craft degree. 

Brothers Michael Combs and Renaldo Dennuna ascended up the winding stairs Monday night.  Brother Combs a family Mason was welcomed to sit with brothers at the end of the night.  Brother Dennuna and student at Appalachian State University also sat with Combs.  Dennuna’s degree was put on as a courtesy to his home lodge.  “We welcome these Brothers to the lodge and hope they make speedy work on their catechisms, so we can see a third soon”, said Worshipful Master Tom Redmond.
